Yep! I said it! I am going to OWN 2015.
And for your reading pleasure, I’ve made up a 2015 chore chart. Here they are….in no particular order.
1. Buy a fanny-pack.
The other day I had a conversation with my husband. It went like this:
Me: I think you need a fanny pack for when we go on vacations.
Chris: No, I don’t. Do they even make those anymore.
Me: I’m sure they do. I think you are the type of guy who could “ROCK” a fanny-pack!
Chris: Gee, Thanks…
For those of you who are wondering if they really do still make fanny-packs…the answer is yes. For those of you who want to “rock” a fanny-pack, join me. I’ve purchased a FLIPBELT. A fanny-packs cool little sister. It’s neat, it’s fun, it’s a party on a belt. It is pure awesomeness!

2. Stay at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada and go down the shark slide.
I’ve stayed at the Golden Nugget many, many years ago. It was not the coolest place then. I’m sure they have done a little up-dating, but I am going for the full experience of the shark slide. I’m not one who likes “public pools.” However, I am willing to chance that….this one time. I mean, come on….it looks cool.

3. Travel more. Go to at least one new destination a year.
The past few years I’ve been caught up on ONE destination spot, that we have been to many times. Last year when we were headed home from Mackinaw Island, MI..I thought why do we spend 7 days to get to and from a place…just to be able to spend a day or a day and a half there. So this year, when we travel in the motorhome..I have a much better plan. I can’t wait to see if it works. I want to spend one day driving, then two or three days playing. I’ve found some really cool places, and it should work out in our favor! 🙂 Then Chris won’t have anything to complain about either. He likes to think all he does on vacation is drive, drive, drive. When we are older, and if the day comes that we retire, I want to throw a dart at the map, and where it lands, is where we go!

4. Send a message in a bottle!
Ok. Ok. Who has seen the Disney classic movie of LT. Robin Crusoe with Dick Van Dyke? I have watched that movie a thousand times if not more. In this movie he is always sending letters to his Jane. Since I first started watching this movie, I have always wanted to send a message in a bottle. I want to see if it makes it anywhere, and if anyone would reply. My heart gets goose bumps just thinking about it. AWESOME!

5. Give people a reason to remember my name!
How many of you are scratching your head thinking…what the hell is she talking about? Well stop. Let me explain. How often do we see people struggling, just in everyday life? For some people having a winter coat isn’t reality. How many times have you seen the people on the sidewalk at a busy intersection with signs that read: “cold and hungry. please help.” Granted many of these people are phonies, but wouldn’t it be nice to pull over and hear their story? Or to take a small meal to a homeless person, and really hear the words that they are willing to share. Some people think I’m crazy, and I may be, but I’m going to do it!

6. 10 Random Acts of Kindness.
This could kind of go with #5, but for numbers sake I’m putting it’s own number to it. Some examples of this would be:
- taping some change to the vending machines at the hospitals
- sending cookies to the bank tellers through their plastic tubie thingies.
- giving a random stranger a Starbucks gift card
- donate blood
- smile at 10 strangers
- make donations to the local animal shelter
- make a quilt and give it to someone special
- give a random stranger a “wish list” gift. This is public information on Amazon
- thank your police and fire department
- make a healthy dinner for your family…not random, but for sure kindness at our house. HA!

7. Ride in a hot air balloon.
Get in. Shut up. Hold on….and pray to Jesus! Enough said!

8. Stay the night in a tree house!
I’ve done a little research on these TreeHouse Hotels. Luckily, there is one within driving distance to the East of us. It will go right along with our summer trip. The joys of being a “planner.” NOT!

9. Leave a message in a library book.
Why? Because it sounds fun. Maybe 10…maybe 20.

10. Go WHALE watching!
I’ve heard the stories. I’ve seen the documentaries. I’ve never witnessed this up live and personal, and I think I should. I feel like words, stories, and movies can only give you a sense of what it would be like. I can’t wait to get me a “whale tail” necklace, and have a story to back it up.

There you have it! 2015 in a nut shell. I can’t wait to see what the future brings, and the fun stuff we will be doing along the way! What is ONE thing you want to do in 2015?
